Majumder, Kedarnath (1870-1926) journalist, social worker, writer and researcher. Born in Kapusatia village of Kishoreganj district in 1870. He started his career as a journalist when his parental accommodation passed the entrance from Mymensingh District School in Gachihata village of the same district. At the age of seventeen, Kumar was published in his own direction. Then he published two more monthly magazines from Mymensingh in 1306 Bangabad (1912-13) and 1307 BS (1 913-14) named Arri. He earned acquaintance as a literary conference and exhibition entrepreneur. The completion of ‘Purnima Sahitya Sammelan’ was successfully completed by Kedarnath Majumder’s efforts. He played a leading role in various literary and cultural conferences in Mymensingh, Kishoreganj, Jamalpur and Sherpur.

In 1917, in the city of Mymensingh, to save the memory of Kedarnath, ‘Joydurga M.E. School ‘was established and later the high court was elevated and was known as’ Jaedurga Institution’. Besides, he established a library in his village in his mother’s name. In his initiative, establishment of ‘Sahitya Sabha’ in Mymensingh town.

In the same city he established a Research Center called Research House and was himself its director. Kedarnath Majumder will make special contribution in the field of regional history. He wrote the history of Mymensingh (1312) as a prominent book. Apart from his writings, his writings include Dhaka Shabd (1316), Temporary Literature (1324), Ramayana Samaj (1927), Happy Vision (1330), Problems (1331), Literature (1901), Thought (1313), Mymensingh Sahakari (1908) Mymensingh’s description (1311) etc. is notable. He was also known as textbook writer.

Kedarnath Majumder died in Mymensingh in 1926.
