In ancient times Kishoreganj was included in the kingdom of Kamrupa. Pala, Varman and Sena kings ruled this region in the 11th and 12th centuries. Then there is an independent state under Coach, Hajong, Garo, and Rajbangshi community. In 1491, under the rule of Firoz Shah, the part of Greater Mymensingh was included but Kishoreganj was outside. During the Mughal emperor Akbar, the largest part of Kishoreganj was under the Mughal empire, but some areas like Janglabari and Egarasindu were under the control of Coach and Aham kings. In 1538, Egarsindhur Aham was defeated in battle with the Mughals, and in 1580 he was defeated in a battle with King Isha Khan, a Jonglabari coach.
