Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila (Kishoreganj district) area is located between 193.73 sq km, 24’21 ‘and 24’23’ north latitudes and 90’24 ‘and 90’25’ east longitude. Nandal upazila on the north, pakowdia and katiadi upazilas on the south, Karimganj and karnal upazilas on the east and Hossainpur and Nandal upazilas on the west.

Administration Kishoreganj Thana was formed in 1860 and it was turned into an upazila on 1 February 1984. Kishoreganj Municipality was formed in 1869.

History of the War of Liberation In 1971, the Pak army massacre and looted the villages of Kishoreganj sadar upazila; They burnt many houses of this upazila into the fire. During the war of liberation, the Pakistani army brutally killed 360 innocent people in Bairatla area of Jasodal union.
