Nationalization of renowned Gurudayal College was announced in the year 1980. Then the city’s conscious people were very afraid of the general students and lack of their higher education. What was the common question that they could overcome? Speaking at the meeting for the purpose of establishing a private college for the public, some times from the home often speak in a formal meeting. Many questions, such as where, however, those lands, where money will come from, what would be the name of the infected name, there was a proposal in the name of the person, there was a confusion in front of them.
Finally, after a great discussion, a meeting was held on August 19, 1982 in District Shilpakala Academy, after taking a great decision for the establishment of a college named “Walinewaz Khan College” in Newtown after the name of the upstream Walinewaz Khan. The tide of joy came to the settlement.
Sub-divisional commissioner M. Absul Mutaleb played a leading role in the establishment of the college. Moreover, the great person who is supported and directly or indirectly contributed to the establishment of this college is as follows. Robiullah, Mazharul Islam Bhuiyan (former mayor of Kishoreganj municipality and former chairman of the college Abdul Manik, Habibur (now honorary President of Bsngladesh Public Representation) Rahman, Nurul Islam (Taara Mia), Amdadul Haque (Moti Mia), Abdul Hannan, Haji Safir Uddin, Ed Sidur Rahman, Dr. AK Sorfuddin, MA Rashid, Biranra Chandra Ghosh, Principal Norandra Chandra Ghosh, Matiur Rahman, Manik Lal Chowdhury, Azizul Wahab, Abdul Zahid Talukder, Horandra Chand Saha, Karim Chonno, Anuar Hossain Milky, Mizanur Rahman (Additional SDO), Sayful Alam, Ad. Under the direction of the founder of the college, this college started the activities of the subdivision administrator M Mutaleb and founding principal. Md. Sahiduzzaman, a student from Latiphpur, was the first student of the college. He admitted 26 in the science group by paying the fee.
The opening class was opened in the first class under the open sky on the opening class students. The founder ordered the school to allotting two rooms for the college. First, the local women’s college (now the government, Women’s College) took a professorial class.
Within a very short time, the construction of a tall tin shade L pattern building and recruitment of 04 teachers, college activities are currently done on permanent basis in the college campus. After a couple of years, this college has received a respect for the repressed educational institution of Kishoreganj district for many times. Presently in the 1998-99 session, Honors course presented as a Bengali, Accounting, Computer Science and BBA (Professional), College was the first time opening a new chapter in this district, Marketing, Islamic Studies, Finance, Psychology, Psychology, Geography, Philosophy, and BBA (professional) program. Tat, MBA courses and many others will be inaugurated near the honors course near fature. Now, the number of students in this college was 6000 which started with only 50/60 students.
The college governing work has a dedicated board with overall development work. The college has been 75 full-time and nine part-time scholarships and 13 honors teachers, BBA (Professional), Degree (pass), HSC (Humanities, Science, Business Education) and HSC (Regularly taught Business Management) level education. Number of employees of the third and fourth grade and 40. The college has been decorated with four multi-storied academic buildings and a rice library. This educational institution has been able to establish itself as an educational institute in Bangladesh. In the future, this institution will now provide quality education to students like the time.
