Nazmul Hasan Papan (born 31 May 1961) is a Bangladeshi senior politician born in Bhairab of Kishoreganj district. He is the current parliament member of the Bangladesh Parliament and current President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. His unique identity is that he is the only child of Sheikh Hasina, former prime minister Zillur Rahman and prominent social activist and politician Ivy Rahman. He is also the Managing Director of Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited, the country’s largest pharmaceutical company. He is the president of Cricket Committee of Dhaka-based Abahani Limited, who is involved in cricket.
Nazmul Hasan was born in Bhairab River Boundary of North Bhairabpur in Kishoreganj district, in 1985, he obtained an MBA degree in Marketing from the Institute of Business Administration of Dhaka University.
Kishoreganj-6 (parliamentary constituency 167, Kuliyarchar-Bhairab) seat was vacant as a result of the oath of President Zillur Rahman of 1922. As a candidate of the ruling Awami League nominated in the vacant seat, Nazmul Hassan won the first term as a Member of Parliament in the by-election in 2009.
Popati, one of the loyal fans of cricket and successful sports organizer, is involved in almost a decade of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League’s Abahani Limited. From 2006 to 2008, Acting President of Abazi Cricket Committee was officiating. Also, the 2006 Cricket Cricket League champion Beximco was the president of the cricket team. He was the President of the Advisory Committee in the inaugural season of T-20 in the Bangladesh Premier League.
While serving as chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board for three years, AHM Mustafa Kemal was nominated as the vice-president of the International Cricket Council. If the BCB president is vacant, then Bangladesh government Nazmul Hassan has been named as the new president of BCB.
